Hiya, I am going a-junkin' tomorrow looking for bulk aluminum stock at our two usual spots, Baeteff Salvage and Masselli & Sons up in Petaulma. M&S are pricey and they close at noon on Saturday's, but they have an incredible selection of not just materials, but *inspiration*. I am really looking to try and find a similar place but one that is closer to San Francisco.
We are looking for the best price on structural aluminum, catwalk, and diamond plate first and foremost (which is what we should find at Baeteff Salvage). The conundrum is Baeteff is open till 4 or something while M&S closes at noon, and I want to hit the place that is pricey but has everything LAST, not first. Makes sense, right?
Anyway, I know Mythbusters did a thing on what places they love to hit but I have yet to Google that anywhere. So yeah, I need some feedback from other junkyard junkies.
If you know a place that is comprehensive, even if it is a little steep, please share the wealth. I won't ask you for your secret stashes of cheap metal because I know that is too much to ask, but if you know of any of those "salvage fun house" yards I am all ears.
Thanks!
